The Company was founded in 1957. Since then, our corporate focus has been on refining the high-precision press processing technologies and related die production technologies. Our first and foremost mission has been to have our customers satisfied and to that end, we have continued to strive at all times for developing new technologies by combining press technologies and die manufacturing technologies at high levels and advancing them to the next level of perfection.
Our automated press processing technologies employed on precision press products are very highly regarded in the industry and our products ranging in a wide variety of fields are highly recognized and evaluated, particularly in the fields of car parts and battery parts manufacturing. We belive that such achievements of the Company are thanks to our customers, venders and other business associates for their support and encouragement and we are very grateful.
The Company's core business is to provide precision press processing solution to industry. Jan. 1957 Commenced press processing and tooling production in Nakatakase, Tomioka city.
Jan. 1965 Formed the Imai Press Kogyo Yugen Kaisha Co.
May. 1970 Commenced progressive tooling stamping and progressive die prduction methods.
May. 1975 Implemented the standardization of dies and introduced QDC (quick die change) method.
May. 1980 Introduced CAD/CAM and commenced rationalization of designing of dies.
Nov. 1987 Established the Imai Press Kogyo Co., Ltd
Jun. 1989 Commenced development of a prototype of the prismatic(steel)battery case.
Aug. 1990 Commenced mass-production of the prismatic(steel)battery cases.
Apri. 1993 Changed the name of the Company to IMI Corporation.
May. 1993 Completed the pressent head office and factory buildings, and commenced operation.
Jan. 1996 Completed the Machine tool factory, and commenced operation.
Sep. 1999 Received ISO9002 certification.
Nov. 2002 Reached an agreement on establishing a joint
Venture with H&T battery components to
manufacture the prismatic battery cases.
Dec. 2003 Received ISO9001 certification.
